Progressive Education Network
Every two years, the Progressive Education Network typically holds a national conference for progressive educators who understand that the purpose of school expands beyond prevailing education policy and practice. Progressive educators support deep intellectual development and healthy identity formation of their students as active learners and engaged citizens in the broader world.
This year's Progressive Education Network conference theme is: "Transformative Education: Disruption, Innovation, and Regeneration in our Learning Communities”. The conference will focus on ways that education has been disrupted by the pandemic and racial injustice as well as by systems that don't serve our students. At the same time, it will show how educators and students can BE disruptors to make our world a better place.
There are several exciting speakers and workshops planned for this conference on October 7, 8 and 9th this year:
School visits to area schools that highlight progressive values
Workshops by organizations such as Teaching While White, Seattle Children's Theater, Washington Ethnic Studies Now, and 7Mindsets SEL Solutions

·Saturday morning plenary with Randolph Carter, Eddie Rye Jr. and other Seattle Disruptors
